Tark-e-Duniya (Renunciation of the World)

3:14

Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring; and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and cattle and land. That is comfort of the life of the world. Allah! With Him is a more excellent abode
(3:14)
3:185

Every person tastes death, then you receive your recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever misses Hell, barely, and makes it to Paradise, has attained a great triumph. The life of this world is no more than an illusion(3:185)
10:7

O! those who expect not the meeting with Us but desire the life of the world and feel secure therein, and those who are neglectful of Our revelations,(10:7)
11:15
11:16

Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter,- to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein,- without diminution. They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: vain are the designs they frame therein, and of no effect and the deeds that they do! (11:15-16)
17:18

If any do wish for the transitory things (of this life), We readily grant them - such things as We will, to such person as We will: in the end have We provided Hell for them: they will burn therein, disgraced and rejected (17:18)
18:28

And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.(18:28)
42:20

To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter
(42:20)
43:33
43:34
43:35

And were it not that (all) men might become of one (evil) way of life, We would provide, for everyone that blasphemes against (Allah) Most Gracious, silver roofs for their houses and (silver) stair-ways on which to go up, and (silver) doors to their houses, and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, and also adornments of gold. But all this were nothing but conveniences of the present life: The Hereafter, in the sight of thy Lord is for the Righteous (43:33-35)
53:29

So (O Muhammad!) turn away from him who turns his back upon Our remembrance, and seeks nothing but the life of this world
(53:29)
57:20

Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception? (57:20)
62:11

Yet [it does happen that] when people become aware of [an occasion for] worldly gain or a passing delight, they rush headlong towards it, and leave thee standing [and preaching]. Say: "That which is with God is far better than all passing delight and all gain! And God is the best of providers!"
(62:11)
75:20
75:21

Nay! But you love the present life, and neglect the hereafter (75:20-21)
76:27

As to these, they love the fleeting life, and put away behind them a Day (that will be) hard
(76:27)
79:37
79:38
79:39

Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, and had preferred the life of this world, the Abode will be Hell-Fire (79:37-39)
87:14
87:15
87:16
87:17

He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, and remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, but ye prefer the life of the world, while the hereafter is better and more lasting
(87:14-17)
102:1

Mutual rivalry in seeking increase in worldly possessions diverts you from God (102:1)
